Proper Cloth was started in 2008 and is based in New York. All of our fabrics are from Europe or Japan and our shirts are hand sewn entirely in the United States.We're not your typical tailor. We are young entrepreneurs who take both fashion and technology seriously. As a result, we deliver some of the highest quality custom dress shirts you can find, but without the overhead and pomp of traditional offerings. Seph Skerritt: Prior to starting Proper Cloth, Seph studied business at
MIT Sloan. Prior to business school, Seph was running the first company he started:
Sfinx Productions, which specializes in event planning, fashion and talent management. Prior to Sfinx, he worked as a Project Engineer for
Northrop Grumman and other hi-tech companies in Los Angeles and San Diego. Seph also has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the
University of California at San Diego.
Bill Sand: Prior to advising Proper Cloth, Bill spent the last 20 years running
Brooks Brothers domestic custom shirt production. Prior to Brooks Brothers, Bill was a partner with the consulting firm
Kurt Salmon Associates where he helped Fortune 100 consumer products and retail companies build their supply chains from concept to consumer. Bill has both B.S. and M.S. degrees from
